(2001), a Master’s Degree in Sport Science and Fitness (2003) and a second Master’s Degree in Sport Science and Technology (2004), both from the
.
In 2009 I defended my PhD dissertation in Sports Biomechanics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. The experimental part of my PhD was conducted in
ENEA (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development). During my PhD studies, I received scholarships from the
Alexandros Onassis Foundation, and the
Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
I have an extensive postdoctoral research experience in the academic sector holding PostDoc contracts with the Interuniversity Centre of Bioengineering of the Human Neuromusculoskeletal System (BOHNES) of the
University of Rome “Foro Italico” (2010-2015), and the Laboratory of Biomechanics at the Institut Des Sciences Du Mouvement E. J. Marey (ISM),
Aix-Marseille University (2015-2017).
My experience in postdoctoral research has also involved the non-academic sector: I have worked in the Research and Testing Centre (R&D) of
ADIDAS AG (2009-2010), performing running biomechanics analysis for the development and evaluation of a new concept in running shoes.
I served as Adjunct Professor for the course "Physics in Sports Science" at the University
"San Raffaele" in Rome and Milan for the Bachelor Degree in Movement and Sport Sciences (2013-2016).
I am highly experienced in the field of biomechanics research, with an extensive background in gait and human movement analysis. My research focuses on the development of innovative methods and tools for the assessment of performance and injury-related biomechanical variables in sports applications and not only using wearable inertial measurement units, as well as motion capture systems.
I collaborate with several international peer-reviewed journals in the field of biomechanics both as author and reviewer and I am fluent in five languages (English, Italian, German, French and Greek).
I am an R&D researcher in the Movement Science Laboratory,
SportsLab Decathlon in Lille (
Decathlon France). I commenced work with Decathlon in March 2018. My principal responsibility is the development and biomechanical evaluation of sportswear products through research and testing.

I spent my free time in running, pilates, reading and traveling. I have also an experience as an alpine ski instructor.
